Three days after arriving in 2013 I posted about Benjamin.
Two days ago Benjamin didn't turn up for his morning biscuits - or his evening meal. And he wasn't around this morning either. This was unprecedented.
It turn out that Benjamin (aka Pip), whose home has been uncertain for at least the past year, has found a family who will give him the love and good care that he needs - and deserves.
I cried when I found out today because I didn't have the chance to say goodbye and I will miss Benjamin. I hope he has a good life in east Holland.
Since he will no longer come to the door to be fed I can confess that I way overstepped my remit by feeding him most of a packet of shaved salmon in this past week. Now I feel it was my parting gift.
